January in Copenhagen might bring chilly weather, but Jess and Steve’s elopement day was surprisingly warm, full of genuine moments and sweet connection that melted the cold away. What was supposed to be a quick one-hour photo session turned into a memorable three-hour adventure around the city.

A Special Ceremony at Copenhagen City Hall

Their ceremony was short and sweet just about ten minutes held at the iconic Copenhagen City Hall. From there we wandered the area capturing candid shots along the way.

Beautiful Stairs of Copenhagen City Hall

We are always happy when we have time to capture photos at the stairs of Copenhagen City Hall because they are just so beautiful. Bear in mind that during the weekend the stairs and balcony are not accessible.

The Magical Colors in Magstræde

One of my favorite parts of the day was exploring Magstræde with its charming streets and colorful houses. This vibrant backdrop added a unique cozy atmosphere that perfectly complemented their love story. Plus it is just a short walk from City Hall making it super convenient for couples wanting beautiful yet accessible spots.

At one point we found a little spot to sit and enjoy some downtime. I happened to grab a newspaper on the metro earlier that day and suggested using it as a prop. Jess and Steve loved the idea it added a quirky spontaneous touch to their photos that truly captured the feel of a real Copenhagen day.

Christiansborg Palace

We wrapped up at Christiansborg Palace one of my favorite elegant spots in Copenhagen. The grand architecture and refined atmosphere created a stunning contrast to the colorful streets earlier giving their session a sophisticated finish.
