As a Copenhagen photographer, I'm thrilled to share with you some of the most captivating spots in this beautiful city for lifestyle, elopement, wedding, love-story, or proposal photoshoots. Copenhagen, with its picturesque streets, historic landmarks, and charming waterfront, offers an abundance of stunning locations that are perfect for capturing your special moments. ✨
Nyhavn - meaning "New Harbor," is perhaps one of the most iconic and recognizable spots in Copenhagen. This vibrant waterfront district boasts colorful 17th-century townhouses, lively cafes, and historic ships lining the canal. The picturesque scenery, with its charming cobblestone streets and bustling atmosphere, provides the perfect backdrop for romantic photoshoots. I’ve done so many photography sessions here, and honestly, it never gets old. The colors, the light, and the vibe always feel different depending on the season or time of day! Address: Nyhavn 1F, 1051 København Tip: Remember that Nyhavn is the most iconic place in Copenhagen, and if you want to have a photo session without a big crowd, it's better to do the session as early as possible. 😊

Kastellet - a well-preserved fortress and one of the best-preserved star fortresses in Northern Europe, offers a unique setting for photoshoots. The star-shaped fortress is surrounded by lush green ramparts, creating a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. You can explore the scenic grounds, which include a picturesque windmill, military barracks, and a beautiful church. It's also very close to The Little Mermaid. Address: Gl. Hovedvagt, Kastellet 1, 2100 København
Christianshavn Neighborhood - Christianshavn is one of my top favorite spots for any love-story photoshoots. This charming neighborhood is known for its canals, colorful houses, and artistic vibe. As a photographer, I love exploring its narrow cobblestone streets - discovering hidden courtyards and historic landmarks along the way. It's also not far from Nyhavn, you can easily do a photography session in both locations.

Marble Church (Frederik's Church) - The Marble Church, also known as Frederik's Church, is a stunning example of Rococo architecture and a popular destination for photoshoots in Copenhagen. Admire the majestic dome, constructed of Norwegian marble, and pose on the steps of the church or inside its grand interior. The elegant surroundings and intricate details make the Marble Church an ideal location for capturing timeless images that you'll cherish forever. It's also close to Amalienborg Palace. Easy to head over and take more photos. Address: Frederiksgade 4, 1265 København
Magstræde - is one of Copenhagen's oldest streets and a hidden gem waiting to be discovered. As a photographer, I love wandering through its narrow alleyways lined with colorful 17th-century houses, capturing candid moments against the backdrop of its charming facades. Whether it's exploring cozy cafes or quaint shops, Magstræde offers an old-world charm and romantic atmosphere that are perfect for intimate and heartfelt photoshoots. It's a truly magical place that never fails to capture the essence of love and romance.Addres: Magstræde 17, 1204 København K, D
Christiansborg Palace - Located on Slotsholmen, Christiansborg Palace is an iconic landmark in Copenhagen with a rich history and stunning architecture. The palace, which houses the Danish Parliament, Supreme Court, and Prime Minister's Office, offers grand backdrops for photoshoots. The Royal Riding Grounds and Palace Tower provide picturesque settings, while the elegant interiors add a touch of royalty to your images. It’s also really close to Copenhagen City Hall and Magstræde, so it’s perfect if you’re planning a photo session and getting married at the Copenhagen City Hall.
Address: Prins Jørgens Gård 1, 1218 København Tip: For a quieter experience, schedule your session early in the morning or on weekdays.
Garden of the Royal Library - This charming garden behind the Black Diamond library is a hidden gem in Copenhagen, open from 6 am to 10 pm. With its lush lawns, beautiful fountains, and historic buildings, it’s perfect for a romantic photoshoot. The garden is wonderfully peaceful before 8 am, but it’s still a lovely spot after 9 am. Plus, it’s just a short walk from Christiansborg Palace, so you can easily capture beautiful moments at both locations in one day!
Address: Proviantpassagen 1, 1218 København

King's Garden - In the heart of Copenhagen, the King's Garden, or Rosenborg Castle Gardens, is a beautiful spot for a relaxed and fun photoshoot. The garden surrounds the historic Rosenborg Palace and features well-kept lawns, colorful flowers, and calm water features. With the castle towers peeking above the greenery, it's a lovely place to capture some serene and picturesque moments. 🌸 Address: Øster Voldgade 4A, 1307 København

Gråbrødretorv - Gråbrødretorv is such a lovely spot to relax, enjoy the colors, and have a nice meal. I found this square years ago when I walked into Yaffa by chance - it’s still one of my favorite restaurants in the area. I also love doing photography sessions here. The surroundings are full of charm and color. Plus, it’s super close to Magstræde and Christiansborg Palace, which makes it great when planning a photo route.
Amager Strandpark - Beach Location - Amager Strandpark offers a stunning beach backdrop perfect for romantic and laid-back photoshoots. Whether by the water or exploring the surrounding greenery, this location provides a relaxed yet beautiful setting for your images. I recommend shooting at sunrise or sunset for the best lighting, as midday lighting can be a bit harsh and the area tends to get crowded, especially during the summer months.
Amager Strand station is a rapid transit station on the Copenhagen Metro, located in the Sundbyøster district. You can meet with your photographer right at the metro station or at the bridge of Amager Strandpark. Bear in mind that the beach is quite expansive, so you can easily spend 1-2 hours exploring and capturing beautiful moments.
The station serves the M2 line, located in fare zone 3, making it convenient and easy to access for your photoshoot. You can also take a taxi or Uber directly to Amager Strandpark for a more comfortable and direct route to the location.
